Widery Terms of Service

Effective date: June 20, 2026

1. Purpose

These Terms of Service govern the rights, obligations, responsibilities, and other necessary matters between Jinwoo Hong, the operator of Widery (the “Operator”), and users of the Widery mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

2. Definitions

  1. “Service” means the AI-based journaling, report, and search application Widery and related features.
  2. “User” means a member or non-member who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
  3. “Member” means a user who creates an account through a social login or other process designated by the Operator.
  4. “Content” means diaries, titles, text, photos, search questions, and other information created, uploaded, or stored by a Member.
  5. “AI Results” means reports, search responses, summaries, and pattern analysis generated based on Member Content.
  6. “Paid Service” means features or benefits provided through a paid subscription or other separate payment.

3. Effect and Changes

These Terms become effective when a user agrees to them through the Service screen or uses the Service. The Operator may amend these Terms within the scope permitted by applicable law. For material changes, the Operator will provide prior notice in the app or by other appropriate means. Users who do not agree to amended Terms may stop using the Service and request account deletion.

4. Account Registration and Management

Account registration is completed when a user logs in through Google, Apple, Kakao, or another authentication method provided by the Operator, agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, and the Operator accepts the registration. Members are responsible for managing their accounts securely and must promptly notify the Operator of unauthorized use.

5. Service Features

6. Service Availability and Changes

The Service is intended to be available 24 hours a day, year-round. However, all or part of the Service may be temporarily interrupted due to maintenance, failures, updates, external service outages, or force majeure. The Operator may change or discontinue features for quality improvement, security, policy changes, or technical reasons.

7. Nature and Limitations of AI Features

AI Results are reference information intended to help users reflect on their records. AI Results do not replace professional judgment or diagnosis in areas such as medicine, mental health counseling, law, tax, finance, or investment. Users should seek professional advice before making important decisions.

AI Results may be inaccurate or may differ from the user’s intent. The Operator makes reasonable efforts to improve the Service but does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose of AI Results.

8. Paid Services and Subscriptions

Paid Services are provided through in-app subscription products. Prices, subscription periods, free trial availability, and auto-renewal conditions are displayed on the purchase screen and the App Store payment screen. Subscriptions may automatically renew according to app marketplace policies unless cancelled by the user.

9. Payment, Cancellation, and Refunds

In-app payments, subscription cancellation, and refunds are handled according to the Apple App Store or applicable marketplace policies and procedures. The Operator does not directly store payment method information processed by app marketplaces.

Due to the nature of digital content and subscriptions, withdrawal or refunds for AI reports, AI search, or subscription benefits that have already begun may be limited except as permitted by applicable law and app marketplace policies.

10. Rights in User Content

Rights in Content created or uploaded by Members remain with the Members. The Operator uses Member Content only to the extent necessary to provide, store, back up, analyze, search, respond to errors, and improve the Service. The Operator does not disclose or sell Member Content without user consent.

11. Prohibited Conduct

  1. Using another person’s account, personal information, or payment method without authorization.
  2. Infringing another person’s rights, reputation, privacy, copyright, or portrait rights.
  3. Creating or transmitting illegal, harmful, violent, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or spam content.
  4. Interfering with the security or normal operation of the Service, servers, or networks.
  5. Reverse engineering, copying, crawling, or abusing the Service or AI features through automated means.
  6. Reselling or commercially exploiting the Service without prior consent from the Operator.
  7. Violating applicable law or these Terms.

12. Operator Obligations

The Operator complies with applicable law and these Terms and makes reasonable efforts to provide a stable Service. The Operator protects personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and takes necessary measures for security and incident response.

13. User Obligations

Users must comply with these Terms, the Privacy Policy, applicable law, and app marketplace policies. Users are responsible for their Content and Service usage and must manage their account information securely.

14. Account Deletion and Termination

Members may terminate the service agreement at any time using the account deletion feature in the app. Upon account deletion, account information and user Content are deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy, except where retention is required by law or necessary for dispute handling.

Account deletion does not cancel auto-renewing subscriptions. Users with active paid subscriptions must separately cancel the subscription through the App Store or applicable marketplace subscription settings.

15. Restrictions and Termination by Operator

If a user violates these Terms, applicable law, or interferes with the operation of the Service, the Operator may restrict use of the Service or terminate the service agreement after prior notice. In urgent cases, such as serious violations, security risks, or legally required action, the Operator may take necessary measures without prior notice.

16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Operator is not liable for damages caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, disaster, communication network failures, app marketplace or external service outages, or user fault. For free services, liability may be limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

For Paid Services, if damage is caused to users by the Operator’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence, the Operator is responsible in accordance with applicable law.

17. Privacy

The Operator processes only the minimum personal information necessary to provide the Service. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.

18. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises in connection with the Service, the Operator and the user will endeavor to resolve it in good faith. If no agreement is reached, disputes may be brought before the competent court under applicable civil procedure rules.
